At Grace Church, we worship with a bit of a modern flavor. We typically have a full band during our Sunday morning services that plays songs by artists like Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Phil Wickham, and Kristian Stanfill. We also use multi-projection in creative ways to display the beauty of God’s creation and the artistry that He has gifted many people with.

Our services normally start with two songs, a welcome time, and a short message for younger children up in front if they want to come and hear from Pastor Brian. After that, we open our nursery for 0-2 year olds and a fun children’s church with a lesson for kids ages 3-PreK in the first two classrooms down the hall from the lobby.

Brian Rihner
Head Pastor

Brian Rihner has been the Senior Pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church since June 2009. His main duties include teaching adult bible studies and giving the weekly worship message. Brian grew up in Avoca, IA and earned his BA in Math/Computer Science at Simpson College. He worked as a actuary in Des Moines for 12 years before going to seminary in Austin, Texas to get his M.Div. Brian has three grown children – Marcus, the CEO of WIPCO in Denison and his wife Alyssa from Denison, Kevin the Chief Information Officer at Availa Bank in Carroll and his wife Claudia from Denison, and Alyssa, a 3rd grade teacher and her husband Joe from Spencer. Brian also has 4 grandaughers: Trinity (6), Harper (3), Violet (2) and Hallie (1), with two more grandkids on the way. Brian enjoys football, baseball, basketball, and golf, listening to music, and can often be found reading numerous books on his Kindle.

Aaron has been the Worship Director at Grace Church since August 2018. He was born and raised in Denison, IA and has been attending Grace Church since he was 8 or 9 years old. His passions include hanging out with friends, coffee, fashion, and playing music.
